Abstract

Used plastic waste is one type of un-organic waste that is widely found. However, this plastic bottle waste still has many benefits, one of which can be used as a planting medium for hydroponic systems. The purpose of this activity is to increase awareness of the importance of hydroponic plant cultivation from plastic waste as a means of utilizing home yards in Bojongsawah Village. The method of implementing activities is carried out in the initial stages through observation and interviews, conducting socialization and counseling, preparation, implementation of activities and evaluation of results. The implementation of this KKM activity can provide additional insight and skill knowledge to the community who are KKM partners, increase awareness about the benefits of managing home yards with hydroponic methods from used bottles, increase awareness of the dangers of plastic waste for the environment if left too long; and able to reduce waste used plastic bottles in the community and able to create a creative economy to make rural people more efficient in spending on vegetables.
